LIBRARY RESOURCES
Our library too had a humble beginning with the college. The library is located in the heart of the campus and has a quiet atmosphere and well-lit study area, the library has a valuable collection of books, periodicals, magazines, journals, reference books, etc. E-resources have been provided. Each department has its own small departmental library specifically for that particular discipline. We provide Book Banking Facility for economically backward students.

Newspapers and journals are an important resource for libraries for several reasons. They can help library patrons stay informed about current events and provide valuable content for research and study. So, our library provides these periodicals, magazines, and journals listed below.

GENERAL LIBRARY RULES
The students, teaching and non-teaching Staff of Aspire College are registered members of the library and they are only allowed to use the library.
Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library
Enter your name and Signature in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering the library and check-in library software also.
Personal belongings like books, printed materials, laptop bags, shoulder and sling bags, umbrellas, etc. should not be allowed inside the library. They should be deposited at the Property Counter
Members should keep strict silence inside the library. They should not talk or discuss with others. Using Mobiles and audio devices with or without speakers or headphones is strictly prohibited in the library premises
Show the books and materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter.
Books removed from the shelves, if not required further, should be kept on the book table nearest to them. Please do not try to shelve them yourself.
Newspaper should be folded properly after reading and kept back in the designated place.
Members going on long leave, or study leave will have to return all borrowed material before leaving the college.
Readers should not deface, mark, cut, or damage library resources, and furniture in any way. If anyone is found doing so, will be charged the full replacement cost of the resource/ furniture.
Members are permitted to use only the computer allotted by the library staff. Use the log register of computers.
Never change the settings of computers, install new software, apps, etc.
Should not remove/unplug computer cables/connections, network cables, and other peripherals/accessories.
Computers should be used for academic purposes only. Online chatting and browsing of social networking sites is strictly prohibited.
Never use external storage devices (Pen Drives, Flash drives, external HDD, CD/DVDs, etc.) without the permission of the Librarian.
CIRCULATION RULES
Undergraduate students can borrow 3 books at a time. Teaching staff can borrow 10 books, guest lecturers can borrow 6 and non-teaching staff can borrow 3 books at a time
Each book is issued for a period of 14 days. Books that are not in demand can be renewed. Delay in returning a book after the due date will entail a fine of one rupee per day.
The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
Never exchange or borrow library books/ Library cards in your name.
When Books are issued, students should check the pages of the issued books and if pages are found missing/damaged, they should report the same to the Librarian before leaving the Counter. On returning the books, if pages are found missing/damaged, then the last borrower of the book shall be held accountable for the missing/ damaged pages and shall accordingly be fined.
Marking library books with pencil or ink, tearing the pages, or spoiling the same in any other way will be viewed very seriously. In such case, the last reader will be held responsible unless he shows the Librarian at the time of issue that the book had been previously marked or damaged. In the event of damage of any kind, the last reader will be liable to compensate for the damage. Books will have to be replaced.
If one book is damaged or lost by a member, he/she must replace it with a new copy of the same edition. If such a copy is not available, the following Kerala state higher education department rules apply.
(a)Ten times the face value of the books which are published prior to 1946
(b) Six times the face value of the books which are published, prior to 1970
(c)Three times the face value of the books in all other cases
Dues to the Library shall pay to the college office and produce the receipt before the Librarian.
The material such as reference books, thesis, dissertations, periodicals, etc. marked for consultation shall not be issued.
Students should return all books, settle all the dues and obtain a “NO DUE CERTIFICATE” from the library when they are applying for TC. Final semester students should obtain a “NO DUE CERTIFICATE” for getting their Hall ticket.
The staff members who intend to leave the college should settle all the dues and obtain “NO DUE CERTIFICATE”
